Associating and cooperating with local authorities, voluntary organisations and community groups or individuals with the common aim of advancing such education and in the provision of facilities concerning social welfare, recreation and leisure with the object of improving the quality of life for the individuals. Establishing or securing the establishments of a community centre and managing or cooperating with any statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities promoted by the association in furtherance of the above objects.
We are constantly in need of volunteers and we would welcome new volunteers to our organisation, especially during busy times like in the Puja season. Below is a list of our regional representatives and young volunteers who make a great contribution toward the running of GMBHCA.
The Greater Manchester Bengali Hindu Cultural Association celebrates Hindu social and religious festivals that include Durga Puja, Lakshmi Puja, Kali Puja or Diwali, Saraswati Puja and organises cultural activities such as Bijoya Sammilani, Bengali New Year and other functions which include Classical, Folk and Bollywood dances, music and dramas involving the younger generation and guest artists of the community.
